The "A Nature in the City" project is dedicated to improving the trailside experience that meanders alongside the serene pond in Filing Six of Rigden Farm, Fort Collins, Colorado. This thoughtful minor amendment involves creating a picturesque floating dock, offering easier access to the pond while encouraging visitors to connect with its tranquil waters. Additionally, a carefully constructed boulder edge will help prevent the encroachment of willows, thus preserving the area's natural beauty.

To enhance the overall visitor experience, we thoughtfully placed two charming benches and a picnic table along the trail. These inviting spots will provide perfect vantage points for birdwatching, allow nature enthusiasts to observe wildlife, and provide ideal settings for leisurely picnics amidst the beauty of the landscape.

I was involved in creating documents for the Minor Amendment; drafting plan layout and construction details.

Results

As of October 2024, this project was approved by the City. Russel+Mills/RVI will now assist the HOA of Rigden Farm in bringing this project into existence.
